{ Spring – Snow Geese } Southern New Jersey Photographer

I look forward to this every spring. The Snow Geese. They’re incredible! Nothing sweeter than driving up the road and coming across a flock thats just landing. I always pull the car over. Lucky for me, this was right in the field across from my home =)  Welcome!

Beauty… when you look into a woman’s eyes and see what is in her heart. ~Nate Dircks

I had the honor and pleasure of photographing one of the most beautiful people I know. And I’m not talking merely about visual beauty, because that fades as we know. But inner beauty.
Lauren has a beautiful soul. You can see that in her eye’s..so look closely. Oh yeah and she’s gorgeous too!
But let’s move on..

Meet Lauren..

This last one is definitely my favorite. We shot late in the afternoon just so we could catch that setting sun.
And we did!

{ Alicia’s Miracle} – Southern New Jersey Newborn Photographer 2011

This is a very special story of a very special little girl; who’s birthday is today!! Let me tell you about her and her family.

I have known mommy Alicia since she was a little baby herself as we lived on the same block and was great friends with her mother. Alicia was such a funny and smart little girl and we have such fond memories. Well she grew up and had a baby of her own. Only her labor and delivery did not go the way it was planned. In the very beginning of her labor she developed a condition called Pulmonary Hypertension. There was no warning, there was only the crashing neonate heartbeat and the dreaded STAT c section. But it didn’t end there. Alicia spent the next few weeks struggling in the Intensive Care unit and her baby was in the NICU. It was day to day..seriously. We all prayed and prayed hard. And they grew in strength and finally came home on a cold January day. I was asked to photograph her newborn photo’s even tho she was a few weeks old. She did fabulous for her photo-shoot and I just wanted to share these with you today.

So Alicia and Matt and Elliana Hope, here are your newborn photo’s. And today? I sure hope you will eat some cake for me!!

Oh and for all of you that would like to read up on Alicia’s condition, Pulmonary Hypertension here is a link. You will see how grave this situation was and why her family is SO joyous today!

* Simplicity *

“To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter… to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird’s nest or a wildflower in spring – these are some of the rewards of the simple life.” ~John Burroughs

I read this quote and wanted to share it with you this morning.I find that the older I get the more I notice these things. Little things. Simple things.

Stars at night cause me to stop in my tracks and gaze upward. Weeds that bloom in spring make me run into the house to grab my camera. Baby toes. Oh how I love baby toes! And I take every opportunity to touch those little piggys and feel them  curl around my finger as I do my nursing assessment. Oh yeah baby toes are sweet. And simple.

Don’t forget the simple things. They are to be treasured. Happy Sunday morning =)
