Beauty… when you look into a woman’s eyes and see what is in her heart. ~Nate Dircks

I had the honor and pleasure of photographing one of the most beautiful people I know. And I’m not talking merely about visual beauty, because that fades as we know. But inner beauty.
Lauren has a beautiful soul. You can see that in her eye’s..so look closely. Oh yeah and she’s gorgeous too!
But let’s move on..

Meet Lauren..

This last one is definitely my favorite. We shot late in the afternoon just so we could catch that setting sun.
And we did!

{ Alicia’s Miracle} – Southern New Jersey Newborn Photographer 2011

This is a very special story of a very special little girl; who’s birthday is today!! Let me tell you about her and her family.

I have known mommy Alicia since she was a little baby herself as we lived on the same block and was great friends with her mother. Alicia was such a funny and smart little girl and we have such fond memories. Well she grew up and had a baby of her own. Only her labor and delivery did not go the way it was planned. In the very beginning of her labor she developed a condition called Pulmonary Hypertension. There was no warning, there was only the crashing neonate heartbeat and the dreaded STAT c section. But it didn’t end there. Alicia spent the next few weeks struggling in the Intensive Care unit and her baby was in the NICU. It was day to day..seriously. We all prayed and prayed hard. And they grew in strength and finally came home on a cold January day. I was asked to photograph her newborn photo’s even tho she was a few weeks old. She did fabulous for her photo-shoot and I just wanted to share these with you today.

So Alicia and Matt and Elliana Hope, here are your newborn photo’s. And today? I sure hope you will eat some cake for me!!

Oh and for all of you that would like to read up on Alicia’s condition, Pulmonary Hypertension here is a link. You will see how grave this situation was and why her family is SO joyous today!

* Simplicity *

“To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter… to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird’s nest or a wildflower in spring – these are some of the rewards of the simple life.” ~John Burroughs

I read this quote and wanted to share it with you this morning.I find that the older I get the more I notice these things. Little things. Simple things.

Stars at night cause me to stop in my tracks and gaze upward. Weeds that bloom in spring make me run into the house to grab my camera. Baby toes. Oh how I love baby toes! And I take every opportunity to touch those little piggys and feel them  curl around my finger as I do my nursing assessment. Oh yeah baby toes are sweet. And simple.

Don’t forget the simple things. They are to be treasured. Happy Sunday morning =)

{ Dawn and Tyler – Newark Delaware Wedding } – Delaware Wedding Photographer

There is no such cozy combination as man and wife. ~Menander
When “Little Dawn” as we call her at work asked me long ago to be her wedding photographer I was so happy to say Yes! They are an amazing couple with a long history for their young age. Let me tell you a bit about them..
They first met in High School. Dawn saw him and thought Wow what a Hot guy! Her words not mine =) She asked around and finally got up the nerve to speak to him after drama. She was running around hugging everyone hoping he would jump in. He ran up to her and said “Hug”!! She said it was the best hug ever! After a few week they finally went out on a date and have been together ever since. 9 years.

…so let the beautification begin!

Dawns dad made all the wooden signs. Isn’t he the coolest?

The ring =) BLING!!!!!

She’s so gorgeous here!

They both got me So choked up! Sighs..

And they become, Man and Wife ♥

What a crazy funny Great bunch of girls!!

Mmmmm!! No words necessary!

Dawn and Tyler are self proclaimed Candy Freaks!!! She put So much effort into this presentation. I love it!

Dawn wanted to see if we could get a shot of the entire wedding!

Can I tell you a sweet story that Dawn told me?

The Ringpop Story:

So we had been dating maybe a year or two, and we were hanging out at Tyler’s house. He told me that he had bought me something… and it was jewelry. I was so nervous and excited! I was thinking “he can’t be proposing can he? He was only 16!” So he pulls something out from behind his back, and handed it to me. It was a ringpop! Oh Tyler…. It was the most delicious jewelry I’ve ever gotten.:D

You two are so blessed. And so darn Cute together! I wish you many many years of wedding bliss. And Dawn? I hope you get your old farmhouse oneday and you two fill it with sweet babies =D Thank you so Much for giving me the honor of recording all the gorgeous moments of your wedding day!

Dawn & Tyler

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Dawn: Watching Tyler reading his vows to me, and seeing the emotion in his eyes. I could see the love he has for me.
Tyler: Watching Dawn come down the aisle. She was (and is always) so beautiful and although the salon was stupid, they did a wonderful job.

Any advice for future bride/grooms?

Dawn: Don’t stress over doing a playlist for music, or worry if everyone is having fun. If you’re having fun so will everyone else.
Tyler: If your wedding is taking place far from home, be sure to write directions that make sense and not just google maps them.

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

Dawn : Watching my Mom & neighbor do the “Dougie”
Tyler: Watching our friends who came late try and sneak into the ceremony while the bridesmaids were walking down the aisle

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

Dawn: The wedding itself was perfect, I might make it a little later in the day, but I think everything worked out perfectly.
Tyler: I would tell people not to RSVP that they were coming and then not show up, that cost us like 500 so it was quite frustrating.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Las Vegas, Nevada, stayed at MGM Grand, saw a bunch of awesome shows and had a blast!

Wedding & Reception: Goodstay Gardens & Mansion
Hair & Makeup: Michael Christopher Salon
Dress: Brides & Grooms (Newark, DE)
Bridesmaids Dresses: (David’s Bridal)
Flowers: Fifty Flowers.com, assembled by Starr
Cake: A wonderful present made by the best man’s mother (Suchi Hiraesave)
